Document Description
The applicant proposes installation of eight transmission poles in the floodplain of the San Joaquin River to support a 115-kV transmission line. Steel or spun concrete poles are proposed for installation within the floodplain to avoid leaching of preservatives used on wood poles. All but one of the poles on the floodplain between the levees would be embedded in augured holes approximately 10 feet deep with no foundations. To provide support for the river crossing, one pole on either side of the river would be set in concrete foundation.
