Document Description
Zone 7 proposes to construct a bench and access roadway on the western margin of the reclaimed Lake I, a reclaimed sand and gravel quarry in the Chain of Lakes. The purpose of the bench is to provide access and a working platform for equipment used to maintain the function of the lake as a groundwater recharge facility. The bench would be excavated on the existing reclaimed slope of the former aggregate mining area approximately 15 to 20 feet below the top of the existing slope. To maintain the inclination of the existing slope, construction of the bench would require that the crest of the slope and the existing security fence would be relocated approximately 30 feet to the west. The upper security access roadway would be located west of the crest of the slope and would generally follow the alignment of an existing footpath.
