Document Description
The project is a B.A.P.S. Temple and Cultural Center, a Hindu socio-religious facility. The project could contain up to 164,372 square feet of building area on a 20.31-acre site. It would consist of the Temple and Cultural Center buildings, with ancillary parking, plazas and landscaping. The applicant would construct Fairfield Ranch Road as part of the proposed Temple and Cultural Center project. The road would serve the project as well as future business park development that may occur on the adjacent properties. Development of the project consists of a Tentative Parcel Map to reconfigure the existing parcels to accomodate the realignment of Fairfield Ranch Road; an Amendment to the Special Use Standards for Churches (Religious Facilites), Section 16.42.010 of the Development Code to permit the height of towers, steeples, or other similar architechtural features on religious facilities to exceed the height limits of all zones in the City, up to a maximum of 80 feet; a Conditional Use Permit to permit construction of a religious facility pursuant to Special Use Standards, Section 16.42.020 of the Development Code and to permit a religious facility to locate in the RM-3 zone; a Site Plan Review for the proposed design of the B.A.P.S. Temple site; determination of the cancellation fee for the land conservation contract pursuant to the Williamson Act; and cancellation of the Temple/Cultural Center and Fairfield Ranch Road sites from the agricultural preserve pursuant to the Williamson Act.
