CD Activity #27.02.1 Rand Water Tank Replacement (Owned and Operated by the Rand Communities Water District) An existing 101,000-gallon steel water tank, identified as "T3," is one of three water storage tanks owned and maintained by the District on the eastern border of Kern County with San Bernardino County. The three water storage tanks, including two located in the community of Red Mountain, San Bernardino County, serve the entire District. The project will consist of two activities. Activity 1, the design, will be the responsibility of the District. A consultant has been retained by the District to prepare construction plans and specifications for the demolition of T3. The consultant will also provide plans and specifications for installation of the new tank, tank foundation, and appurtenances. The work done by the consultant will be compensated by the District and no CDBG grant funding will be used to pay for services provided by the consultant. Activity II will consist of the removal of T3, construction of a new foundation, and erection of the new tank and appurtenances using Grant funds provided by the County of Kern. Supplemental Grant funds, utilized for construction purposes, will also be provided by the County of San Bernardino.
