Document Description
Excavate approximately four test pits within two separate culturally sensitive areas at MacKerricher State Park. Currently, natural erosion, pedestrian and equestrian foot traffic, and native wildlife habitation expose sensitive areas to detrimental impacts. Tests will include defining boundaries of potential archaeological sites, assessing significance and integrity of any discovered resources, and establishing data necessary for future management and protection of cultural resources within park. Qualified archaeologists will conduct tests in strict compliance with all Native American Heritage Commission policies and Secretary of the Interior standards regarding the treatment of cultural resources.
