Document Description
Provide access to the goup camp area at Morro Bay State Park to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act standards. This project will:
* Demolish an existing non-accessible wood frame restroom structure and reconstruct a new 150 series Combination Building in the same location using existing utilities. Combination Building design will be consistent with adjacent campground and will include masonry walls, exposed wood beams and rafter construction in the roof. The roof will consist of redwood shingles over Douglas fir sheathing.
* Modify one existing group campsite. Work will include compacting native soil or adding decomposed granite around the BBQ/cook area and providing five, new, accessible picnic tables.
* Improve the surface of the 60'X60' parking area by compacting existing native soil.
*Install an accessible hose bib with paved surround at the group BBQ/cook area and replace an existing camp stove with an accessible stove.
* Create a five feet wide, accessible path of travel connecting the parking area, the new combination building, cook area, and hose bib.
* Lower existing interpretive panel.
* Remove light pole.
Project protects public health and safety, supports continued use and maintenance, and provides ADA accessibility.
