Document Description
The University of California, Santa Barbara proposes to extend Sabado Tarde Road approximately 75 feet from Isla Vista to Ocean Road on West Main Campus and install a transit gate for use by the Metropolitan Transit District (MTD) bus service. The purpose of this project is to provide bus service from the City of Goleta, Ellwood, and Isla Vista to UCSB and to accommodate students who live in these areas and commute regularly to campus. Providing the extra bus route would reduce the amount of student and staff vehicle traffic and parking on campus and in Isla Vista. Currently only one Santa Barbara County road connects Isla Vista and the UCSB campus. Bus service from the aforementioned areas and UCSB is deficient and in need of improvement.
