Caltrans is proposing a safety project to install lighting in the Grizzly Dome Tunnel and a flashing beacon system to warn motorists of the presence of bicyclists in the Grizzly Dome and Elephant Butte Tunnels. The Grizzly Dome and Elephant Butte tunnels are located on State Route 70 in Plumas County, approximately 0.7 and 1.2 miles respectively from the Butte County Line.
