Document Description
The purpose of the grading is to construct a building pad for a single-family residence that will be accessed by a 1200 foot long driveway off of Jamestown Road. Two building pads have been excavated on the hillside. The owners plan to use the larger pad that is higher up on the hill for the residence. The lower pad was excavated mistakenly and will be used for a garden. Both pads were excavated by using dynamite to blast bedrock. This excavation was completed without a Grading Permit from Tuolumne County. The applicant has since submitted a Grading Plan to the Engineering Development Division of the Public Works Department to correct this situation. Erosion control measures that have been implemented include seeding of the disturbed areas on the slope with a fast growing rye grass, and the application of crushed aggregate rock on the driveway. Hay bales have been distributed to further mitigate any potential erosion of water quality issues.
