The proposed project would upgrade seven major water control structures in the Butte Sink, to improve fish passage for threatened and endangered steelhead and chinock salmon while preserving or enhancing the seasonal wetland values provided by the Butte Sink, including commercial agriculture, managed private wetlands, managed government lands, and other habitats. The structures to be upgraded include the North Weir (to be improved with an upgraded facility). End Weir (to be improved with an upgraded facility and fish ladder). Morton Weir (to be improved with an upgraded facility and fish ladder). Field and Tule Turnout (to be improved with an upgraded facility). Mile Long Canal Turnout (to be improved with an upgraded facility). Driver's Cut Outfall (to receive a new fish barrier downstream of the outfall), and the RD 833 Outfall (to receive a new fish barrier downstream of the outfall).
