Document Description
The Department of Recreation and Parks is proposing to implement the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium Master Plan that identifies a variety of facility infrastructure and expansion improvements aimed at increasing the Aquarium's available building space and bolstering its marine education, research, and public outreach programs. The focal point of the project includes the construction of three new buildings totaling approximately 20,000 square feet of gross floor space. These buildings include an Aquaculture/Discovery Laboratory, a Washroom Building, a Gift Shop/Project Laboratory, and a garage to house the Outreach Program vans. DRP will require a modification to its lease with the Los Angeles Harbor Department to accommodate the siting of the Aquaculture/Discovery Laboratory in the southern portion of the facility.
