Document Description
Project is being implemented to improve the continuity, safety, and capacity of the 1.7 mile segment of SR 46 between pm 31.5 and pm 33.2. The project involves: 1) widening SR 46 between the aforementioned points of conformance, 2) construction of three short segments of connector road in a commercial park north and south of SR 46, and 3) construction of a drainage basin south of SR 46 just west of the same commercial park. Project could result in take of Swainson's hawk (Buteo swainsoni) in the form of mortality due to vehicle strikes, nest abandonment, or destruction of nests resulting in the loss of young, fledglings, or eggs over the five year term of the ITP. Swainson's hawk is listed as threatened under CESA. Permittee will mitigate through the purchase of two (2) Covered Species credits at a CDFW-approved conservation or mitigation bank.
