Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to widen a 63.2-kilometer (39.3-mile) segment of State Route 46 located in San Luis Obispo and Kern counties. The project would widen the existing two-lane conventional highway to a four-lane expressway with an 18.6-meter-wide (61-foot wide) medium. A four-lane conventional highway with a 3.6-meter-wide (12-foot-wide median) is proposed for the segment through the community of Lost Hills in Kern County ending just east of the West Side Canal.
