Document Description
Canyon del Rey Creek is an ephemeral stream located at the north end of Silver Cloud Court near the intersection of Highway 68 and York Road in Monterey County. The stream channel contains water that strikes the hillside during and following rainstorms. The channel in this area ranges from two (2) to four (4) feet in width and one (1) to two (2) feet in depth and flows directly into a storm drain at the southern end of the property. Upstream from the project would construct a low earthen bem uphill from the site of an office park to create a sediment retention pond. The berm would be approximately six (6) to eight (8) feet high. A 36-inch round pipe would be placed in the pond just upstream from the berm. The pipe would be capped with a strainer and would contain 6-inch diameter openings to allow water to flow into an underground culvert made of 12-high density polyethylene pipe, where it would then flow into the existing storm drain system. The California Department of Fish and Game is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement Number R3-2002-0751 pursuant to Section 1603 of the Fish and Game Code to the project operator, Mr. Leonard McIntosh.
