Document Description
The proposed Project involves the expansion of the existing Potrero Hills Landfill for the addition of approximately 57 million cubic yards of non-hazardous waste within 11 new landfill cells. Project components include the filling-in and relocation of Spring Branch Creek and its tributaries, installation of a drainage piping system, extension of the Pacific Gas and Electric Company powerlines, and installation of four water storage tanks and associated water conveyance systems. Compensatory activities include creation, enhancement and restoration of ponds and enhancement of grassland habitat on mitigation lands. The Project will result in total impacts to 195.62 acres of habitat including temporary impacts to California tiger salamander (Ambystoma californiense) habitat including permanent impacts to 175.7 acres of habitat and temporary impacts to 19.92 acres of habitat. The project is expected to result in incidental take of California tiger salamander, which is designated as a threatened species under CESA. The ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of Project implementation. Amendment No. 2 consists of an extension to the term of the ITP from December 31, 2021 to December 31, 2032.
