Document Description
The proposed project would involve the construction of approximately 11,000 lineal feet of 42-inch water main and approximately 6,500 lineal feet of 16-inch sewer force main. Approximately 8 air-release valves and 6 blow-off valves are associated with the mains. The project also includes upgrading the existing New York Creek and Timberline lift stations, which could include replacement or upgrade of existing pumps with new larger pumps and the associated electrical and mechanical equipment. An approximately 40-foot-wide construction corridor along the proposed alignments and a staging area (200 feet by 110 feet), located along the Silva Valley Parkway, would be required. Approximately 200 linear feet would be disturbed on any given day during construction. Approximately 25 cubic yards of soil would be moved on a daily basis. Soil would be stored adjacent to the trench, within the construction corridor. The average depth of trenches would be 4 feet, with the deepest approximately 11 feet. For the water main, the estimated total volume of earthwork is between 19,000 and 21,000 cubic yards. For the sewer force main, the estimated total volume of earthwork is approximately 4,550 cubic yards. Blasting will likely be required. The amount and location is unknown although it is estimated to be approximately 5-10% of the length of the mains. Construction vehicle traffic would be limited to Silva Valley Parkway, Green Valley Road, Serrano Parkway, and El Dorando Hills Boulevard.
