Document Description
The proposed project entails the creation of a new project area and the adoption of the Redevelopment Plan for the La Cadena Corridor Redevelopment Project Area in the City of Colton in accordance with the standards of the California Community Redevelopment Law (CRL), Health and Safety Code Section 33000, et seq. The purpose of the Redevelopment Plan is to eliminate the conditions of physical and economic blight that exist in the Project Area through rehabilitation of existing housing and buildings, and revitalization and reuse of commercial, industrial and vacant properties. The total Project Area encompasses over 1,700 acres. The project conforms to the adopted Colton General Plan. For the purpose of environmental analysis, buildout of the project area totals a net increase of approximately 955 dwelling units, approximately 350,000 square feet of commercial space, approximately 4.8 million square feet of industrial space and a net of approximately 153,000 square feet of public facility space.
