Reasons for Exemption
This project is exempt under Section 15301, CEQA Guidelines - "Operational activities at an existing facility which do not result in an expansion of the use beyond that existing." The site operator needs to service equipment and perform site preparation tasks, such as removal of tarps and minor grading, prior to receipt of waste. These tasks take approximaely one hour. This project will not change the waste acceptance hours at the site and will not result in traffic, noise, dust, odors, or other impacts that might create a nuisance. In addition, this project will not result in an increase in the amount of waste received at the site on a daily basis or over the life of the site.
