Pursuant to Division 2, Chapter 6 of California Fish and Game Code, the operator, on September 13, 2002, notified the Department that he intends to substantially divert or obstruct the natural flow of, or substantially change the bed, channel, or bank of, or use material from the streambed of the following water: Tributary to Chadd Creek, in the County of Humboldt, State of California.

Reasons for Exemption
The project proposes to rehabilitate a single culvert on U.S. Highway 101. The project will install the new 60-inch culvert to match the current inlet elevation and the outlet will be connected to a down-drain section approximately 45-feet above the current ground level. The Project will have no significant effect on the environment.
