Document Description
Prescribed fire project to occur on remote Shasta County wetland and grazed ranchland consisting of native grasses, decadent tules, Scotch thistle and perennial pepperweed. The project is designed to reduce matted tules, noxious weeds, (perennial pepperweed and Scotch thistle) on the native grasslands. The project will be conducted under CDF's Vegetation Management Program (VMP). Within the VMP, this project has been designed to include standard best management practices and already incorporates all appropriate mitigation measures to ensure that any potential adverse environmental impacts are reduced to less than significant or totally avoided. Future activities include ongoing range vegetation management activities and wildlife and habitat conservation measures. Natural waterways are separated from the project area by levees.
