Document Description
The Project includes the development of an aggregate mine with a total Project area of 23.2 acres. Of this area, 9.7 acres are already heavily disturbed b past excavation activities. The ITP, as originally authorized, allows take of the California Endangered Species Act designated State Threatened San Joaquin kit fox (Vulpes macrotis mutica) and San Joaquin antelope squirrel (Ammospermophilus nelsoni) and the State Endangered giant kangaroo rat (Dipodomys ingens). Minor Amendment No. 3 extends the deadline for the permanent protection of the Project Habitat Management Lands from December 11, 2013 to December 11, 2014. CDFW issued the ITP and ITP Amendments 1, 2, and 3 (collectively, the ITP, as amended) as a responsible agency under the CEQA, relying on an EIR prepared and certified for the Project by the lead agency, County of San Luis Obispo.
