Document Description
The proposed project involves the upgrade of the SVTP to a tertiary level of treatment. The project includes the installation of filtration facilities including a pulse bed filter, filter control building, filter feed pumping station, chemical storage facility, backwash pumping station, and other appurtenances. The primary purpose of the project is to maximize the recycle opportunities for the SVTP. Currently the SVTP can accommodate a maximum wet weather flow of 12 million gallons per day (mgd) with excess flow diverted to equalization basins for storage and future treatment. The project would not increase the permitted average dry weather flow of 3.0 mgd nor overall treatment storage and capacity of the SVTP. Effluent would be treated in accordance with the California Code of Regulations Title 22 for producing disinfected tertiary recycled water.
