Document Description
The modifications and refinements include adjustments to the proposed levee modifications and habitat restoration activities originally proposed as part of the Phase B Project. The modifications include placing sediment generated by levee degrades into cells within the northwest corner of MWT, which would create new areas for riparian habitat mitigation to offset impacts from the 2023 Phase B project. Degrading the MWT Southwest Levee to approximately elevation 2.5 ft (a higher elevation than was previously proposed). Completing the remaining work to repair the MWT west levee section to the pre-breach elevation. Creating Beneficial Re-use of Material and Riparian Planting Areas by using sediment and dry material generated from excavation activities for levee modifications and would create new riparian and riparian scrub shrub habitat. Lastly, cutting the existing berm around the scour pond on the east side of the MWT to maintain hydraulic connection.
