Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Game is executing Lake or Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2009-0045-R2, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project applicant, Nevada Irrigation District. The project is limited trenching across three waterways to bury a 48 inch diameter raw water delivery pipeline from the Clipper Creek Siphon as well as trenching for placement of a 36 inch treated water supply pipeline; grading of the bank of a section of the lower Cascade canal will also be conducted to allow for construction of a water diversion facility and a crested weir to redirect water from the 48 inch pipeline to water treatment plants or storage reservoirs as needed. Where the trenching for the pipelines crosses a waterway, temporary culverts will be installed to redirect stream flows around the work site. It is not anticipated that it will be necessary to impound water in order to dewater portions of the creeks. Temporary gravel roadways across the creeks will also be established using clean washed gravel in order to facilitate construction vehicle and equipment access. All imported gravel and temporary culverts will be removed upon completion of the project and all disturbed areas of streambed will be re-graded to pre-construction contours. Native coble will be used to return the streambed to pre-construction conditions.
