The proposed improvements are located at the existing Hollister DWTP. Facilities at the DWTP consist of a headworks facility, five wastewater treatment ponds (two primary treatment ponds, one stabilization pond, and two setting ponds), 15 percolation beds, and a lift station. Construction of all facilities and equipment for this project would take place within the DWTP site, which has a General Plan designation of Public Institutional for the part within the City and a zoning desigantion of Agricultural Preserve with a Floodplain overlay (APFP) for the part in the County.
Document Description
The City of Hollister is proposing several interim improvements to its DWTP. Interim improvements are needed for the accurate measurement of influent to the plan, odor control, solids removal, and improved wastewater treatment until long-term improvements can be approved and consructed. The project is proposed to meet the CCRWQCB's requirements to allow continued use of the DWTP and is not intended to increase design capacity. The proposed interim improvements include replacement of the existing headworks facility, conversion of a strorage pond to a secondary treatment process pond, and installation of a treatment polishing unit. This environmental document also addresses the potential impacts of two new emergency storage basins that have already been constructed.
