Document Description
Based on the engineering evaluation conducted in the RI/FS Report (CDM, 2002b) "excavation and off-site treatment" was selected as the preferred remedial action alternative for the Site. Under the selected alternative, contaminated on-site surface soils contain lead greater than 300 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg) (and PAHs above regional background levels at two isolated locations) would be excavated to two feet below ground surface (bgs) and transported to an off-site facility for treatment and recycling. This remedial alternative satisfies the remedial action goal to prevent human exposure to surface soil (less than 2 feet bgs) containing lead at concentrations that may represent unacceptable human health risks. The site would continue to be used for residential purposes.
