Document Description
The proposed Runkle Canyon Specific Plan would integrate a variety of land uses including a mix of residential types, natural open space, a neighborhood park, a multi-use trail system, and an area for the potential future development of a public golf course. Residential development is proposed on approximately 140 acres in the northern portion of the Specific Plan Area. A total of 461 residences are proposed, including 138 senior housing units, 62 of which would be affordable, 298 single-family homes, and 25 single-family estate homes. Approximately 1,456 acres would remain in open space and recreational uses, including a 9-acre neighborhood park, 1,151 acres of natural open space, approximately 18 acres for a water storage tank, and an emergency helispot, and approximately 218 acres designated for the potential future development of a public golf course. Recreational opportunities would be provided throughout the open space areas via public paths, sidewalks, and trails. The trails proposed within the Specific Plan Area would complement the development of a coordinated multi-use trail network for equestrian, hiking and bicycling uses throughout the city.
