The proposed project is to establish a program to provide funding to landowners within Panoche Drainage District who wish to improve their existing irrigation systems. The program will provide $1,800,000 for the improvement of irrigation systems for up to 3,900 acres of farmland. The proposed project may result in increased irrigation efficiency, water conservation, and a reduction in the volume of deep percolation contributing to the region's drainage problem.
