Document Description
The Operator proposes to alter the streambed and banks by retrofitting the Florence Avenue and Washington Boulevard Bridges over the Rio Hondo Channel; the Willow Street Bridge over Coyote Creek; and the Slauson Avenue Bridge over the Los Angeles River, to meet current seismic requirements for highway bridges. The proposed projects will involve the placement of restrainers at various piers and hinges; and the placement of girder bumpers, concrete catcher blocks and shear keys at several abutments. In addition, the Slauson Avenue Bridge will involve the installation of Cast-In-Hole concrete piles at the abutments and pier footing, and the installation of concrete backwall bulkhead beams and the widening of pier footings. Cast-In-Hole concrete piles will be placed at the pier footings inside the channel. No native vegetation will be removed as a result of these projects.
