Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project consists of the relocation of an existing air-supported structure and four nuclear magnetic resonance imaging magnets and spectroscopy equiment from one location on campus, the addition of a fifth larger magnet and the expansion of the air-supported structure to house a total of sixth or more magnets. The project will require minor grading of the site and the installation of addtional landscaping. Based on the above project assessment, the NMR-II project is classified as exempt from the provisions of CEQA under Section 15304 Class 4(a)(b), minor alterations in the condition of land and/or vegetation including grading on land with a slope of less than ten percent and new landscaping
