Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Game is executing Lake or Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2012-0001-R2, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game code to the project applicant, Placer County Department of Public Works. The proposed project aims to modify SR-28 from a four-lane cross section roadway to a three-lane cross section roadway and single lane roundabouts at the Bear Street and SR-28 intersection, and the Coon Street and SR-28 intersection. The proposed project are does not have collection and conveyance features to adequately direct the upstream runoff through the existing water treatment facilities. The sheet flows of runoff flow directly into Lake Tahoe. New collection and conveyance infrastructure including sedimentation basins, swales, sediment traps, infiltration basins, and new roadway curb and gutter systems will be installed. The storm water within the storm water system will then be collected into a series of sediment and filter vaults where the suspended solids and sediments will settle before the water is released into a 30" HDPE pipe and into a rock-lined ditch in the Backshore of Lake Tahoe.
