Document Description
The development of a 70' high cellular communication tower (faux water tower), and the installation of a pre-fabricated 220 square foot equipment building. This is a reduction in height from the previously proposed 150' monopole. This decrease in height, however, will significantly limit the pole's ability to co-locate future cellular/PCS carriers. A lease agreement for a 40' x 25' portion of the approximately 80 acre parcel will be used for the cellular communications purposes. The proposed location of the leased site and the tower have also been modified. The new site will be adjacent to the west side of the existing abandoned Simpson Mill building and only the top ~22' of the tower will be exposed above the 57' tall mill structure. This location is intended to reduce the visual impacts of the previous site in the NW corner of the parcel. The communication facility will be secured by an 8' chain link fence topped with barbed wire. No special paint color or lights are anticipated for the tower. The parcel is developed with industrial and office structures, access and parking improvements. Project improvements will be located in areas zoned Heavy Industrial (MH).
