Present Land Use
The present land use is restaurant, clubhouse and golf course; zoning is Planned Development; General Plan designations include Excessive Slope Area, a High Soils Erosion Hazard Area, the Upper Sacramento Deer Winter Range, a High Wildfire Hazard Area, a High Suitability for Woodland Productivity (Site Class I and II), and an area containing soils that exhibit severe pressure limitations.
Document Description
The applicants propose an amendment to the existing Planned Development zoning district for the Siskiyou Lake Highlands Project to eliminate from the design plan, the construction of the ice rink/conference center. The Siskiyou Lake Highlands Project proposed a variety of mixed uses that included a golf course, vacation rental-style chalets, a residential subdivision, a clubhouse, a restaurant and an ice rink/conference center. The Project was designed to be incrementally developed through four phases. The first three phases, which included development of the residential subdivision, the golf course, the chalets, the clubhouse and restaurant were completed between 1992 and 1994. The fourth and final phase that included development of the ice rink/conference center never materialized and has subsequently been abandoned. The proposed amendment to the Planned Development would not increase the development potenital of the site. The site has been developed with a parking lot and a golf car storage building and can no longer support the development of the ice rink/conference center.
