Document Description
The project is the adoption and implementation of a Comprehensive Update and Amendment to the General Plan of Los Angeles County. The Update and Amendment significantly alter the focus of the adopted General Plan by changing the emphasis of the Plan to focus on the unincorporated areas within the county. Major changes involve expanding and merging existing Significant Ecological Areas (SEA), creating new SEAs, and eliminating certain SEAs, updating the Highway Plan, revisions to growth policies by updating population and housing projections and the new horizon year of 2015, and by providing detailed projections at the community level for the unincorporated area, and revisions to the Conservation and Open Space Element and the boundaries of area and community plans to enhance the cohesiveness of the county planning areas.
