Document Description
The proposed project consists of extracting up to 420,000 cubic yards of decomposed granite from an approximately 15-acre County-owned site located adjacent to the existing Ramona Landfill and transporting the material to the County's San Marcos Landfill. The material transported to the San Marcos Landfill will be used for the construction of the landfill closure cover system. The San Marcos Landfill stopped accepting waste in 1997. The transportation route for the material transported to the San Marcos Landfill would start along Pamo Road south to Haverford Road to SR-78 (San Pasqual Valley Road). The route would then follow SR-78 west into the San Pasqual Valley, past the Wild Animal Park and into Escondido. Within Escondido the route would continue on San Pasqual Valley Road to East Washington Avenue. The route would continue to North Broadway and would proceed to Lincoln Parkway to the entrance to the SR-78 freeway. The route would then in a westerly direction along the SR-78 freeway past the SR-78/I-15 interchange. The route exits the SR-78 freeway onto Rancho Santa Fe Road, and continues south until a left-turn onto San Elijo Road, which leads to the San Marcos Landfill.
