Document Description
LAUSD is proposing to acquire approximately .46-acres (20,241 square feet) of property consisting of three parcels in order to accomodate the expansion of the playground area. The existing structures located on the three parcels consist of a street front commercial unit with an attached residential unit in the rear, a street front commercial unit with two residential units in the rear, and a street front commercial uint with nine residential units in the rear. The structures will be demolished to allow the site to be graded and the propsed playground expansion constructed. The improvements will include two basketball courts, one volleyball court, and two tetherball courts with an 8' Concrete Masonry Unit (CMU) wall to the north of the site and 8' chain link fence separating the rest of the playground from State Street to the east, and surface parking to the south. A portion of the playground would be landscaped with approximately 1,000 square feet of turf area, and four redwood tree wells (8' x 8'), two northeast of the turf area and two southwest of the turf area.
