Document Description
The project is a Renovation plan for the existing Landmark Site No. 54 church building that includes the following items: 1. Renovate the fire escape by removing the old fire escape and constructing a new fire escape that will double back on itself. The new fire escape will have a wire mesh enclosure with an open arch to match the windows. Vines will be planted in order to grow up the wire mesh. 2. The front entry will be lowered and handicapped ramps installed outside. One of the interior stairwells will be converted to an elevator shaft. 3. The windows will be repaired and the stained glass reinstalled. 4. Clear glass will replace stained glass in two small windows. The stained glass will be retained so that is can be reinstalled if so desired at a later date. 5. There will be a three-color paint scheme for the painted areas probably in browns. When the scheme is determined, the architects will make their presentation to the Landmark Preservation Commission.
