Reasons for Exemption
This 46 year old trunk sewer line has not been accessed for cleaning and maintenance for many years. In addition, recent inspection has shown: deteriorated, broken, and sagging pipelines; heavy root intrusion; displaced joints; multiple cracks; and significant sludge buildup in many sectionsl of the line. Due to these reasons there is a high potential for sewage spills. Therefore, in the event of a sewage spill, sewage would reach the Pacific Ocean jeopeardizing public health and safety.
