Document Description
SAA R3-2001-0889 Russian Gulch Creek at the Highway 1 Bridge, in the County of Sonoma. Russian Gulch Creek is an intermittent stream that flows to the Pacific Ocean. The proposed work is routine maintenance consisting of the removal of accumulated silt, gravel and other materials from under the bridge. Some riparian vegetation has established on a gravel bar in the channel. This vegetation will be removed to provide for an open channel condition. The estimated amount of material to be removed is 200 cubic yards. Removal will be done with a rubber tired loader and trucks working within the streambed but only when the stream is dry. There is an exsting access road to the creek approximately 150 feet downstream from the bridge that will be used for the equipment. All materials removed from the bed will be transported off site.
