The project involves one structure on one legal parcel. The project consists of the installation of a gas station canopy and painting of the existing slump stone building facade at an existing mini market/gas station. Class 1 exemptions consist of the minor alteration of existing facilities involving negligible or no expansion beyond the existing use. Class 3 exemptions consist of the installation of small new equipment and facilities in small structures, including accessory structures. The addition of a gas station canopy and the painting of a portion of the exterior of the building is considered to be a minor alteration to an existing facility involving no expansion beyond the existing use, and it is also considered to be the installation of small new equipment and facilities in a small structure. Therefore, the project is considered to be exempt pursuant to Class 1 and Class 3 of the CEQA Guidelines.
