Document Description
A 52,890 square foot waste composting facility on 3.1 acres within the boundaries of the existing 59-acre Mariposa County Landfill. The facility will average 40 tons per day, with a peak of 60 tons per day and a design capacity of 80 tons per day of municipal solid waste (MSW). The incoming traffic will remain same as the landfill, which is an average of 300 vehicle trips per day, with 2 new employee vehicles and 1-2 truck trips per week to export recyclables. The hours of receiving waste, sorting waste and operations (except facility and equipment maintenance and composting) are limited to daylight hours, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
