Document Description
The project includes the following: 1) Annexation, General Plan Amendment and Pre-zoning for the unincorporated Planning Area #51 (the former Marine Corps Air Station El Toro); 2) Annexation of the unincorporated portion of Planning Area #35 (James A. Musick Branch Jail and the Irvine Ranch Water District Parcel); and 3) General Plan Amendment and Zone Change for Planning Area #30 which is presently in the City of Irvine. This Plan responds to the decision by the Navy to sell a majority of the MCAS El Toro land on a public auction basis. Because the land will be sold to privately interests, certain portions of the project are designated to allow alternative uses which will produce sufficient revenues to permit the development of the Great Park and other public uses contained in the Plan.
