Document Description
The project consists of a request to permit the approval of an Amendment to the Fountain Valley Medical Center Specific Plan, a Precise Plan, Conditional Use Permit, and Development Agreement for the proposed expansion of the Fountain Valley Regional Hospital. The Hospital is proposing a six-story (116" in height), approximately 128,000-square foot expansion project to be constructed adjacent to the existing main 400-bed hospital. The proposed six-story building is planned for 156 licensed in-patient hospital beds; however, 88 current in-patient hospital beds are proposed to be de-licensed as part of this project. Therefore, the number of new in-patient hospital licensed beds from the project would be 68. The project also includes 10 new emergency room treatment spaces, 269 parking stalls (for a total of 2,287 parking stalls), and relocation of the main hospital entrance to the interior of the hospital campus for proximity to the parking area. The proposed six-story hospital building is proposed to be constructed within the hospital campus property but would require the demolition of the existing utility yard, one-story maintenance shop and a portion of existing surface parking stalls which will be replaced on-site.
