Document Description
The City of Bakersfield will construct four grade-level crossings along Union Pacific Railroad tracks at Old River Road, Akers Road, Harris Road, and Mountain Vista Drive. The purpose of the grade-level crossings is to improve the overall traffic safety for the general area of the project. The four grade-level crossings will further connect the existing circulation system of the City of Bakersfield. Each crossing will have No. 9 automatic gate type signals, two gates for each direction approaching the crossing. Standard advanced warning signs, pavement markings and striping will be provided. The crossings will be constructed of pre-cast concrete panels.
