Document Description
The Department of General Services proposes to retrofit this state facility in order to conserve energy and reduce expenses. This project will replace and upgrade the remaining T-12 fixtures with T-8 fixtures. The facility's cooling heating and ventilation systems are served by air handling units of varying constant, volume systems. These motors are at the end of their useful life and will be replaced. The facility has a high-pressure steam system being supplemented by three 37,000 lbs/hour Nabraska steam boilers that were installed in 1980. Due to the poor part load characteristics of the existing burners, it is proposed that Boiler #2 be de-rated from 37,000 lbs/hour to 15,000 lbs/hour. A new 570 nominal ton cooling tower and condenser water pump is recommended to optimize the cooling capacity for the building as well as to improve efficiencies.
