Document Description
The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (Metropolitan) is proposing the installation of sludge dewatering equipment and storage facilities in the existing orchard field area located south of the Washwater Reclamation Plant No. 2 at the Jensen Filtration Plant. The sludge dewatering equipment will consist of two belt presses, a mixing tank, and a conveyor. Sludge shall be deposited on the ground amongst the existing landscaping. The removal of a small amount of the existing landscape may be required. As a result of the proposed project, Metropolitan would reduce the discharge of the sludge into the existing city of Los Angeles municipal sewer system.
