Document Description
This project, to be carried out in the city of Los Angeles and it's surrounding communities, involves the planting of 515 trees along city street parkways and within Los Angeles County Parks. It is anticipated that this project will commence in November of 2002 and will be completed no later than March 1, 2005. Trees will be either native trees or non-native ornamentals that have been selected for their disease resistance, adaptation to the urban landscape, shade capacity, and minimal litter production. Trees will be a minimum of 15 gallon commercial nursery stock in size. All trees will be planted, staked and tied, watered and maintained in accordance with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protections guidelines. A representative parkway planting project location can be found at the intersection of Chatsworth Street and Shoshone Avenue in Granada Hills, CA.
