The project consists of tilling compacted soils on trails and dirt roads. Work will be done with hand tools and mechanized equipment. The restored trails will be mulched with organic material collected from the surrounding area. Vehicle and foot traffic will be restricted by placing logs and forest debris across the former trails. Where necessary, water bars will be installed to prevent future erosion.
This project involves revegetation, soil erosion control and restoration activities that will result in minor alterations to the surface of the land. The project is temporary and will have negligible effects on the environment.
