Document Description
Napa County proposes demolition of a 47-year old, 34-bed linear juvenile hall and construction of a 60 bed, podular, new-generation design facility. The existing juvenile hall is "grand fathered" at every Board of Corrections inspection due to its age and inability to meet the current regulations. A new facility will improve programming options, allow for the classification and appropriate housing of minors, and will eliminate facility issues such as inadequate capacity, design flaws, structural integrity, safety and security vulnerabilities, and physical deterioration.
