Document Description
The proposed project includes the development of the Wall-Las Memorias and associated park and landscape features. Construction will involve the creation of an open garden area to include bench seating, a walking path consisting of lithocrete and brick, eight wall panels, a rose garden, and a sculpture. Two of the eight panels, each on a 14-foot by 10-foot wall structure will be comprised of slate and will be engraved with the names of people who have died as the result of the Auto Immune Deficiency Syndrome Virus (AIDS virus). The remaining six panels, each on a 13-foot by 9-foot wall structure will be comprised of porcelain, enameled steel, or mosaic tiles, and will be used to showcase selected murals. Proposed lighting will consist of accent lighting, which will be placed along the proposed pathway, at panels and trees in the immediate project area.
